The clinic staff are getting paid off. There was a woman in disguise who picked one up, dressed just like one of the Mayor's maids underneath.

Looks like there's something to our hunch after all.

Indeed. Someone working for the Mayor had some suspect material in a bag. I managed to take one of the samples, but it seems that there may have been another creature, or perhaps civilization, that once lived in the mines. It seems they may have gone extinct.

Going to the mines to root out the cause could be suicide.

Perhaps I can round up some others who have already contracted the illness like myself, that way we wouldn't be exposing anyone still unaffected.

If my theory is correct, I can only assume it is some kind of challenge for us each personally.

I can't say I appreciate the pass or fail mechanics of it, however.
